Why should I get paid for providing you or your business /organization with a bad forecast? 
You can get that from the TV or cable for Free.

It is WxRisk's policy that in the event that my forecast(s) is inaccurate or does not "verify"  that I should not paid for bad service. In the meteorology biz a bad forecast is referred to as a "BUST" or a "BUSTED" forecast.  If my forecast calls for RAIN on Sunday and it's Sunny -- well that's a BUSTED forecasted.   Obviously, there are some legal qualifications here  but in the   event that the forecast/product is NOT accurate  at the time interval when PUSU starts   then the forecast is FREE!

Here is how it works.  In the products below there are certain points when WxRisk makes the "final call. That is when PUSU activates.   If the "call" is wrong or if the forecasts busts, its 10% for every bad call.

SEASONAL    FORECASTS

Many of the larger well known PWSIPs  ( Private Weather Service Information Providers) issue SEASONAL weather forecasts once a month. But most of these forecasts are heavily based on the US Govt's  CPC forecasts (Climate Prediction Center).  These are good forecasts but often they are simply re- hashing of the CPC forecasts.

However over the past several years there has been a major improvement in the number and Quality of long range forecast Models -- called the "climate models".   Truth be told some PWSIPs dont know about these much improved climate models or dont know how to use them. However since Medium and Long Range weather forecasting is all WXRISK  does -- I do know how to read and use the IRI... EACHAM... OCN.... NCEP... CCM...  and other climate models.  If you are paying a seasonal Forecast... then go ahead and  ask you PWSIP if they know what the IRI or EACHAM climate model is.    The WXRISK  climate models are issued  between the 10th and 15th of the month.     To contact WXRISK about this Product   click  HERE.

30 DAY    FORECASTS
THE FIRST   CONTINUOUS  30 DAY FORECAST!
Primarily for Energy and Grain Traders

There are  many 30 day weather forecasts out there.. Most of the major  PWSIP/s ( Private Weather Service Information Providers)    issue a  30 Day weather forecast or outlook once a month.  These are good forecasts but they are only produced once a month.

The primary reason for this is that CPC  -- Climate Prediction Center ) which issues the 30 day forecast has historically carried a  lot   of weight.  But since they issue their 30 day forecasts once a month... so has  everyone else!    Second  the limitations in computing power meant that the development.... production ...and implementation of  Climate models were rather restricted.

However over the past 5  years there has been a fundamental change in climate models and a huge increase in the quality & accuracy of 30 Day forecasts. There are now so many weather & climate models available and accessible on a frequent basis... that is is now possible to issue 30 Day Forecasts    on a much more frequent basis.

The 30 day WXRISK forecast will be issued WEDNESDAYS and SUNDAY MORNINGS ( twice a week) every week out to 30 days!  My 30 day forecast is geared to the Energy and Grain trading world  and other business or agency that is in a weather sensitive position.

N.E.R.C. 8 DAY ENERGY FORECASTS

The WxRisk Energy   Forecast is a National 8 Day forecast that covers all 10 regions of the NERC   (North American Electric Reliability Council).    Temperatures forecasts for over 20 cities are provided with repsect to the 5 categories -- Much Above/  Above/  Normal / Below/ and Much Below NORMAL. 

In addition a COMPREHENSIVE WEATHER MODEL REVIEW & ANALYSIS IS OFFERRED every Morningthat exceeds  ALL other model analysis that is available from the Private Weather service market today.

Typically the 7 Day or 10 day temperature forecasts that are made by various large  PWSIPs are based heavily on the MRF new MOS (often refferred to as MAV).  The N.E.R.C. 8 DAY   ENERGY FORECASTS are based on a variety of data most of it far superior to the MRF MOS such as  the ECMWF every 12 hours... MRF  Ensemble MOS and the Korean Model just to name a few.

WEATHER NOTIFICATION SERVICE  (WXNS).

This product is based on YOUR needs. WEATHER NOTIFICATION SERVICE  is where the customer sets the Weather parameters that are to be watched.    In  the WEATHER NOTIFICATION SERVICE Forecastss,  YOU pick the parameter(s) that concern you or your company.   Some of these parameters may be --but not limited to--   Wind above 25 MPH, Wind above 40 MPH,  Heavy rains, Ice, Extreme Heat or Cold etc etc . After these parameters are selected,  whenever the potential  of these conditions develop,  WxRisk contacts you to give you advanced notification -- and ALWAYS  DAYS in advanced  NOT  36 hours like some forecasts do.  On the other, if weather conditions remain peaceful, quiet, and non threatening  WxRisk does NOT contact you.  You probably have enough to do without reading a forecast that says its going be sunny and 60 degrees  for the next 3 days! For example, General Contractors that are engaged in Road construction often have a High level of concern regarding surface road temperatures while  a Marine Terminal is often concerned with High winds and/or Thunderstorm threats  for the Large Crane Operations.

OPERATIONAL ENERGY FORECASTS (OEF)

This product is not FOR the Energy Commodities Trader but for those managers and businesses that are engaged in the Heating Oil, Propane and Natural Gas industry on a daily operational level.  With the large scale Energy problems that this country is going to see during the cool season  (2000- 2001),  ACCURATE and reliable HDD Information is essential for  Operational Energy production and distribution.  The use of well known Cable TV Weather   programs is not going to help  since their temperatures are taken directly off a computer model regardless of whether they make sense or not. 

OEF  comes in variety of different formats:  7 day forecast for up to 3 locations, 7 day forecast for 4 or more locations,   10 day forecasts for up to 3 locations and 10 day forecast for over 4 or more locations.   Forecasts include actual weather conditions, HDD, CDD, Max and Min temps, winds, precipitation and Best/Worst case scenario.   As with all WxRisk products, it is   backed  by  PUSU.

WEATHER TRADER'S EDGE    (WTE)

The WEATHER TRADER'S EDGE   is WxRisk's Newsletter   and is a subscription service for Pit Traders, Companies and individuals looking for INSIDE weather information on extended and medium range weather forecasts. The service is made for those have a need to get the  bottom line on what what is likely to happen, what may happen and the critical official forecasts are likely to be-- regardless of your meteorological orientation.   The WEATHER TRADER'S EDGE newsletter is issued 4 times a week ( Monday Wednesday, and Friday mornings between 8-9 AM CDT)  with intermediate bulletins on Sunday night before project A Trading and as necessary .

WTE is a "front runned" product.
