DT's     MIDDAY     REPORT

FOR THE  NEXT 7 DAY FORECAST    PERIOD ---  MAY  6 -12

It reach 100 in  south central   SD near    the NEB state line... with  Middle and Upper 90s   over   much of  SD NEB  KS   and Lower 90s  in OK and  TX.    East of the Mississippi river   themps were in the  Upper 70s   to Middle 70s.

In the short terms  the      data shows the first Cold front  will drop south  into   SD   MN WI    then into the  ECB  this weekend.   .   This front will produce    significant  showers  in these areas -- 40-50% coverage of 0.25-   1.00"   with a few  1.55" amounts possible.   The real question is  does the front drop  into   Northern IA?   It might

Low pressure   Sunday   passing along the MT   Canada Border will pull  up the  Hot air   into the  WCB.    After this Low passes  by   the front will sink into the   WCB   on May 10th and 11  ... which ends the heat and provides   GOOD rain threats   as  waves of little Low pressure areas   transverse the front    from West to East

Then  the  Canadian   European and now the   American Model develop a  major Low  coming out of the  Rockies    with  significant  rains possible  for  at least a   good portion of the Plains and  Midwest  in the MAY   13-15   time frame. The dry areas of  eastern WY  eastern MT   and the Dkotas could see well over  1.00" of rain   with  Lessor amounts   over the central and Lower Plains.  This Low does NOT look like it will bring   good rains to  the  HRWW  next week .

Week 2 does  have  several  significant rain systems   across the Midwest  and   the  central Plains .   As I suggested  Yesterday the  WEDNESDAY AY  afternoon   6-10 day forecast from the  Climate Prediciton   center  (CPC)   had a lot of rain in it over the  Upper Plains and  ALL OF THE MIDWEST.
